My OH went into the garden the other day to tidy up and pulled this cardboard box of bubblewrap out of the shed. He discovered that a swarm of bees had decided to use it as a nest (as well as other creeping and scuttling things that had used it as a toilet)!
I risked life and limb to get a closer look.
Click on the photo to see more detail if you want to. It's quite amazing what bees can construct without architects, plans or building regs. You can't see any bees here but they were there believe me - and quite a few were buzzing around in the shed wondering where their home had disappeared to.

(List Update
The list method is going well. Even though I restrict the number of items on it to 3, I think it's going to help me get more done in the long run.)

Bye for now

You guys are going to have a very tasty holiday! I'm making blueberry muffins today with a cinnamon topping.
What will you do with the bee hive? Bees are fascinating, but I am scared of them. The last time I was stung I had an allergic reaction so I carry meds with me now and freak out a little whenever they get close. Even so, I have been trying to attract them to my garden. I think that is why my squash isn't doing well.
Bees' nests are incredible aren't they (wasps too, even though the creatures themselves are a wretched nuisance). Peanut butter and chocolate is such a bizarre-sounding combination but so delicious. Reminds me of something, little chocolate cups filled with peanut butter? Hang on I'll google...that's it, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, mmm. Share your recipe please :)
Bees are truly one of God's greatest signs!
Peanut Butter and Choc Chip... How on earth do you survive with 'just' one?!?
